Matt Wolfe in his own words:
I like ponies (of the Shetland variety... because they're so small), giant robots, ninjas, and I know a medium amount of Star Wars trivia, not because I studied it, but because I've played so many Star Wars games I can't help but remember certain details. Oh well, some of us were destined to geek out, and cruel fate or not, such was appointed for me as well.
People say they can always hear me walking up because of the flip-flop sounds of my sandals. In a room full of suits I'm the guy in the t-shirt that says something ridiculous like: "How I Met Your Mother" or "Hard Work is for People Short on Talent." I'm really not trying to be different, it's just I'm less awkward this way.
Literature to me is any story that moves you along in your own journey; it causes reflection and pondering. So Literature can be books, movies, songs, video games, pictures, paintings, poems, whatever; this is art. For reasons unbeknown to me, participating in artistic endeavors has always been something I've liked. There's always something beautiful to see, something new, and something you just didn't see clearly enough before. There's something out there to make you be in awe - something to get past all the busyness that drowns out the majestic.
I can't always take the best picture out there, or make the best video there is. However, I will take the best picture I can take and make the best video I can make. That's part of the journey: realizing, with Lewis, that: "Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it."
Because I love stories, every project I work on is a new story to tell, so I don't tell the same story twice. It also makes me somewhat of an auteur when it comes to a project, and sometimes a bit of a pain in the ass for people.
Despite that, people generally like talking to me. For some reason people like to share their fears and pains and hopes and dreams. Once, at a suicide prevention group, a fellow asked me if I partook of 'shrooms or some other drug that gave me my insight into Man's psyche. I told him I did not, but I that I did, in a very pathetic and broken way, love Jesus, for whatever it was worth. I do what I do with all this video, photo and design stuff, partly because it's what I know to do. If I was different, I would do something different. And I also do it because doing so often reminds me of Goodness, not goodness, but with a capital "G".
